“Tredyffrin Township is truly a jewel in Chester County. We have always had an active citizenry, solid business base, excellent schools, top-notch services and a great quality of life.  In fact, in 2008, Tredyffrin Township was reaffirmed as one of only two municipalities in Pennsylvania to receive Moody’s AAA rating.  All of this has been achieved with low and stable taxation.  My goal is to build upon the excellent record of leadership that has brought Tredyffrin to this point and find ways our Township government can do even more without burdening taxpayers.”

Controlling Property Taxes

Michelle knows that now more than ever we need a Supervisor committed to bringing strong fiscal discipline to Township government to control local property taxes and protect homeowners.  To achieve that goal, this is what she will do:

  • Control non-essential spending in these tough economic  times.
  • Implement a “Savings Bonus Program” that rewards Township employees who find new ways to cut expenses and save tax dollars.
  • Closely manage public projects to ensure they meet or come in below budget.
  • Review all Township budget items to find savings.
  • Spark economic growth to provide new revenue to the Township by attracting new businesses to our commercial districts without the need for increased public services that cost taxpayers more money.

Preserve Our Quality of Life
As a lifelong resident of Tredyffrin Township, Michelle understands the special quality of life our community offers.  As Supervisor, she will work to preserve this quality of life through smart decision making that balances the needs of residents with fiscal discipline.  To do this, she will focus on two key goals:

  • Support our police, fire and emergency responders to ensure our
neighborhoods remain safe places to live.
  • Maintain our Parks and Recreation System to provide our families, seniors
and children with top-notch recreation opportunities.
  • Protect our remaining open spaces by using her experience on the Zoning Hearing Board to support common sense initiatives to balance growth with the need to preserve our natural and historic heritage.

Stand with Residents to Address Local Needs
As our Supervisor, Michelle will work with residents to address issues important to their local neighborhoods.  Here is just some of what she will do:

  • Keep a watchful eye on the Turnpike Commissions' currently tabled plan's for the highway expansion and vehemently oppose any taking of local homes.
  • Facilitate consensus in the community on the sidewalk plan to ensure the most aesthetically appealing and safest sidewalk plan for our children, pedestrians and the environment.
  • Continue to implement and revise the Township’s stormwater management plan to help prevent flooding and better protect our natural resources.
  • Work for traffic reducing initiatives by partnering with county, state and federal officials as well as the DVRPC.
  • Work to reduce deer over-population by working with community groups and the state.
  • Oversee the Paoli transit center project to make certain the issues of local residents are always at the forefront.

Improve Communications with Residents
Michelle believes that by improving communications with residents, our local government can better meet their needs and address their concerns.  That’s why, as Supervisor, she will work for innovative and cost-effective ways to let residents know what is happening in the Township and give them more outlets to express their ideas.
